Privacy Policy and processing of personal data

This Privacy Policy sets out how personal data of users (hereinafter “User”, “You”) is processed and protected on the official website of a Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor (hereinafter “Administration”, “We”). We place the highest priority on the security of our patients’ data and strictly comply with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union (GDPR — Regulation (EU) 2016/679), as well as applicable national personal data legislation.

1. General provisions

Using the website, filling in contact forms, subscribing to newsletters, or sending enquiries constitutes the User’s unconditional agreement with the terms of this Policy. If you do not agree with any provision of this document, you must immediately stop using the website.

2. Legal bases for data processing (under the GDPR)

We process your personal data only where a lawful basis exists:

  • Article 6(1)(a) GDPR: Your explicit and freely given consent to the processing of data for one or more specific purposes (e.g. filling in a contact form).
  • Article 6(1)(b) GDPR: Processing is necessary for the performance of a contract or to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract (e.g. a preliminary appointment booking).
  • Article 9(2)(h) GDPR (Special categories of data): Processing of health data is carried out solely for the purposes of providing medical care, medical diagnosis, or managing health-care systems, provided that the data is processed by a healthcare professional bound by an obligation of professional secrecy.

3. Categories of personal data collected

We may collect and process the following types of information:

  • Identification data: first name, last name, patronymic.
  • Contact data: phone number, email address.
  • Medical information (only when voluntarily provided): information about symptoms or health complaints (e.g. neck pain, body asymmetry, dizziness) and medical history that the User voluntarily enters in the text fields of contact forms for the preliminary assessment of the suitability of Atlas therapy, acupuncture, or chiropractic sessions.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, language settings, cookies, and on-site behavioural data collected automatically through analytics systems.

4. Purposes of personal data processing

Your information is used solely for the following purposes:

  • Organising preliminary appointment bookings and coordinating visit times with the Professor.
  • Responding to User enquiries regarding treatment methods (including specifics of the correction of the first cervical vertebra and Eastern medicine).
  • Providing feedback and advice on organisational matters relating to the provision of services.
  • Analysing website performance and improving its interface, content, and usability for patients.

5. User rights (under the GDPR)

Every User located within the European Union has the following inalienable rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR): You may request confirmation as to whether your data is being processed, and obtain a copy of it.
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate or outdated data.
  • Right to erasure / “Right to be forgotten” (Art. 17 GDPR): You may request the complete deletion of your personal data from our systems, except where the law requires us to retain it (e.g. patient medical records).
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR): You have the right to suspend the processing of your data in certain legal circumstances.
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): You may request that your data be transferred to you or to a third party in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR): You may withdraw previously given consent to data processing at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

To exercise any of the rights above, you may send an official request to the website Administration via the contact form or to the email address listed on the website.

6. Retention periods and data security

Personal data is retained only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes for which it was collected, or to comply with statutory medical and financial record-keeping periods. We implement up-to-date technical and organisational security measures, including data encryption (SSL/TLS), to prevent unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your confidential information.

7. Changes to the Privacy Policy

The Administration reserves the right to unilaterally update this Policy due to changes in legislation or the website’s technological processes. The new version takes effect upon its publication on this page.

8. Management of cookies and third-party analytics systems

Our website has implemented a granular consent management system (Cookie Banner) that strictly blocks the execution of marketing and analytics scripts until your explicit consent is obtained.

We use the following categories of cookies and similar device-identification technologies:

  • Necessary: Ensure the basic functioning of the website and the retention of your privacy settings. They are activated automatically and cannot be disabled.

  • Analytics (Google Analytics 4): Used to analyse website traffic, interaction with site content, and to improve its structure. Activated only after your consent. Google Analytics collects data about your interaction with the website and technical characteristics of your device and browser. No personal data that could identify you, nor any medical information you enter (symptoms, complaints), is ever transmitted to Google’s systems. You can learn more about how Google uses data from partner sites at the official link: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

  • Marketing (Facebook Pixel): Used to evaluate the effectiveness of advertising campaigns on the Meta network (Facebook/Instagram) and to provide you with relevant information. This script is activated solely with your consent. Meta Platforms Inc. may receive anonymised data about your actions on the website for the purposes of ad optimisation and targeting services. The transfer to Meta of any personal data or information regarding your health status (symptoms, diagnoses) is fully excluded. You can manage ad display in your Facebook/Instagram account or learn more about data-processing principles in Meta’s Privacy Policy.

Withdrawing consent: You have the right to change your settings or fully withdraw your consent to cookie processing at any time. To do this, every page of the website has a permanent “Manage Cookies” button in the bottom-left corner (or in the site footer). Clicking it reopens the interactive settings window, where you can enable or disable analytics and marketing cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser for a period of 180 days.
